Frances Jablonca was appointed to the CDBA National Board in September 2017, replacing Celine Turgeon as Chapter Rep for CDBA Alberta. She is currently President of CDBA Alberta, and has worked in other capacities on this Board over the years.
Frances has worked with children as an elementary teacher and is now working as an ESL Instructor at Bow Valley College, Calgary. Her involvement in deafblindness began 25 years ago after the birth of her middle child, Charlotte, now deceased, who was born with CHARGE Syndrome.
As a parent, among the many skills she acquired, she learned the role of intervention and advocacy with the support of Interveners and other professionals in the field of deafblindness.
